So my family is taking a vacation the last week of July, but we don’t have any idea to where we’re going. Family consists of a) dad, likes historic stuff but is really up to anything b) mom, who could care less where we go as long as it’s within 2000 miles of Wisconsin and isn’t super hot and humid c) 11-year-old brother who was on a Canada kick for a while (I have no idea) and would like to go there but doesn’t really care if we don’t and d) me, the teenage girl that wants to go somewhere where we don’t have to look at trees, beach would be nice, historical city with a good mall=perfect (we’ve already been to Washington DC. Although it was nice [I loved the Smithsonian and the three-story mall], it was above 90 the entire week we were there and that was NOT enjoyable.
Keeping in mind that we have 10 days for travel, and it’ll probably take us 2 or 3 days depending on the location, we would require a place with enough activities to occupy us for 4-6 days.
We’d probably drive, unless there were plane tickets for under $200/per person roundtrip to the place we were going. We usually just start to look for a good hotel when it gets late but if there’s a cheap way to get a hotel with flight tickets, that’d be awesome.
I just don’t really know where to look and don’t really have the time either. If someone could just steer me in the right direction by suggesting a good place to visit or point me to a good online service to get plane tickets, reserve hotels, etc. I’d appreciate it so much.
Thanks much
